Default Sky dish

I got an old sky dish with a Ravenwood LNB with four outlets (whatever this was for) don't know if it works yet, looks like the collar is 40mm may take a single universal. I plan to use this at my caravan for 13e fixed and may consider splitting this with my other dish for 28e, would this dish be ok for 13e, any suggestions as to how I could set this up? sorry this post is a mess, boss is on my back.

Depending on which zone minidish it is and where it's going to be used, it will work OK, but have problems with the signal in heavy rain.

I had a friend who was going to get broadband from the Astra2 sat and she had to get a Quad LNB for it, they are also used for Sly+. When they are fitted to a minidish they tend to pull the dish down a bit, thus affecting the elevation, you need to lift the elevation a little bit when you fit one of these Quad LNBs, it is this pulling down of the dish which causes the breakup of signal in the rain.

You can have it on your dish if you want to, but unless you are going to have a couple of boxes or Sly+ running from it there would be no advantage, might even be a disadvantage.

Very best regards Wez

Sorry, I didn't read all of your post caravan.

So you want to have two dishes, one for 28E and the other for Hotbird?

You just need a 2 way DiSEqC 1.0 switch. The feed fromeach of the two LNBs goes into that, one cable comes out and goes to the receiver.

Thanks Robbo, I'm in the North East of Scoltland so I think its a zone 2 dish and I like your idea as it sounds easy, I think, how much would one of these switches cost, I might go to Maplins.
Thanks to the others who replied, my vans a static and I'll be there in 2 weeks, the winters been good so far bet I'll have 3 ft of snow with a hard frost then, it gets cold sometimes at my location.

I din't think Maplin sell Diseqc switches, and if they did they would be overpriced.

I think I paid about £6 for my 4-way, can't remember where from though, I just googled and bought
