Default newby here with v+ question!

hi ive just been browsing through the site and found some really interesting stuff but it seems to be over my head, anyway ive got a dbox 2 but want to record, get hd channels and on demand movies that i cant get on that to go on my plasma so just ordered a v+ box from virgin for £75 plus £9 on top of my basic package, thing is i want it chipped so i can get all the channels and this is where im gonna struggle,i dont think i'll be able to chip it myself so was wondering if theres anyone on here near the manchester area that could do it for me when its installed,i could bring the box to you,but if people think its easy enough could they explain how i do it and what i need, any advice would be greatfully recieved, cheers glen

there is no point cuting the talk back on a v+ hd box, coz most of the hd stuff is ondemand. unless we are going to get more chanels when thay cut the analoge signal??? and dont do a sub box, your just asking for truble!

i dont think ppl realy know, thay just like to play on the safe side, its just if thay talk to the box and say how meny chanels have you got and it come's back with more chanels than its ment to have , then its your name on that box!! it prob will not happen but with all the changes thay got going on at the mo you will never know....thats what i think... its realy up to you.....

HOPE THIS HELPS

but dont cut talkback on v+ box, you will not have any fun with the hd side......

cheers pal,i appreciate everyones advice and i know what your saying, its my neck on the line but what about all these people who get theyre gear fitted by the cable man then he offers to chip the box for them,i know this goes on coz i even got a guy who worked for ntl last year who was only in my taxi for ten mins when he was asking if i was interested an he even said cable guys are the biggest chippers of all,
anyway i thin im stil gonna take the risk as its on my back, could anyone tell me where i could find the info to do it or where i could go to get it chipped near manchester area?

you shouldnt mess with a box your paying subscription fees for as it talks back to VM and would look a little suss if your paying for it and not using it.reason your mates havnt been caught with their samsung boxes is cause theyve probably got them off some dodgy VM engineer or one of us lot lol and arnt registerd to them.you wont have any problems if you buy another v+ as it wont be registered to you,so VM wont miss anytalk back from it.hope this clears it up little m8
