about 3dB at the higher frequencies, plus the extra loss of the increased cable length.

I agree with robbo there is a loss of signal is low. (he knows his stuff this guy) I have done this myself as the so and so builder decided to cut the cable before i moved in. Eventhough the RG6 cable is not as heavy duty as the cable that it is connected (through a female to female F connector) it does work ok. Its a lot cheaper and easier to do this especially they only cut the cable when it enters the house, so added another 10 metres. (which is a little OTT but i cant be bothered to cut it to size. Think it cost me £8 for the connectors and cable and postage. OK i could have gone to maplins but the nearest is a 24 mile round trip. not worth the aggro. (£3 in petrol)
