I bought a new smart Jazeera card in January and the Al Jazeera Sport +1 and +2 channels - except for some occasional interference from Jazeera itself - was working fine until today when all I get is "scrambled channel" on both channels.

I inserted my ART Sport smart card and those channels appear OK.

Can anyone advise me?

Have you contacted the card retailer for their advice?, as it may be that the receiver needs putting on a certain channel or something to keep the card active.

Can you be a bit more explicit about why the receiver would need putting on a certain channel for the card to remain active?

Not, really no.

Something to do with ECMs and EMMS and complicated stuff that I don't understand, but I just know that on some packages it is necessary, your dealer however should be able to fill you in, i.e does your card need that or not.

Hi tuna, the keepalive or update signals are only sent on the channels that are opened by the card. Therefore the receiver must be left on one of those channels to receive the update signal. One of the problems with multisat systems is the the dish can be left pointing at a different satellite or left tuned to a different channel and hence the necessary update signals are missed.

Solution - tune into one of the channels covered by the card and leave it until the card updates.

My Jazeera Sport +1 channel shows only "scrambled channel" with the smart card inserted, while the picture on the +2 channel has deteriorated.

(I have not used the receiver for 5 days so it is possible I missed singal updates, although the +2 channel pictue is visible, even if it is a poor quality.)

Is this a problem at the broadcaster's end? Thanks.
