Default Flash help?

Im having trouble getting my Pc to recognise my dreambox via the nul modem, here is the guide I followed and cant get to the part where the progress bar is flashing etc. Anyhelp?
1) Disconnect ALL the cables from your Dreambox

2) Plug one end of the null modem cable into your PC (into a COM port)

3) Plug the other end into the back of the Dreambox (The port circled in Fig 1)

4) Load DreamUp on your PC. 5) If it appears in German, switch the language by pressing Language -> English

6) Select which serial port you are using from the drop-down menu. (in my case COM1)

7) Make sure "use network" is unchecked

9) Now plug the Dreambox into the mains and make sure it is switched on. If everything is working right you should get a blue progress bar appearing within a second or two. After the bar finishes, you should have the message "Box attached and ready" beside status. You are now ready to flash. (one thing to note here is that the first version of DreamUp I tried did nothing at this point, I had to update to the newer version for this to work)
I have Com 1, 2, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and I have tried all of them but to no avail. You help is much appreciated

There is a possibility that you have a serial cable and not a null modem cable.

Just a thought.

Hi this is the other option you have if you got crossover cable make sure you have ip of your box after telnet session then go to webbrowser and type your ip adress and you will get option for flashing your box just follow that
Login with telnet
mount /boot -o remount,rw
rm /boot/*
reboot

Now you've got a box which won't boot anymore, so the bootloader will accept new firmware.
Only do this if you have a way to tell which IP your box got, after you reboot.
Because you won't be able to use your box again, untill you flashed an nfi, using the webinterface of the bootloader.

Thanks for your post NadSad, it will be of great help to the users of the 600, indeed it would be of help to those who have a 7025, as it is the same procedure for both boxes, both being Enigma2.

Very best regards Wez
