Default softcam via usb on tm5400?

Hi, I'm trying to load a softcam keys to a new TM5400CI+ via USB, I've read it's possible but the box cant see them on the USB stick. There is a patch a loader and a softcam.key on the USB stick, all it sees is the patch.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks.

Have you unzipped it?

Yeah, I unzipped it. It's called TMSoftcam.key

Correct so far.

Have you patched the box?

Maybe it needs patching before the file can be seen.

The TM original firmware will only probably see known file types.

I applied patch: Darkmanpatch TM5400CI_5600CI_118p_20080229.stb All seemed to go OK, and the box rebooted fine.
How do I check that the patch was successful? System Information shows: S/W : 1.07 (Dec 13 2007). Not sure if that's supposed to change or not.
Thanks.

I don't think that looks right.

I think it should say something along the lines of:-

S/W Version : 1.18p (Feb 29 2008).

I can't check as I have a slightly different model.

That's it!
When I loaded the patch it gave me the choice of - Normal DB or Default DB to save to. Normal didn't change it, default did. After that the TMSoftcam.key showed up on the USB drive, and installed OK.
Thanks Guys.

OK... Now I've got the patch and todays softcam keys installed and I've re-scanned but there is no change in any of the scrambled channels

If I look under the CAS heading there are only channels listed under the Free + SCR and NDS headings, NDS are all scrambled.

I'm using SAT 28.2E ASTRA2/Euro is that correct?
Thanks.

There is nothing to be had using the patch on 28E, any encrypted channels are Sky, and you ain't got a chance.

You need to be able to pick up some other satellites, like 19.2E,13E,1W,15W for example.
