If you've got 28.5, you've also then got 28.2, it is then a matter of fine tuning; the one other issue would then be whether the dish is big enough for Astra 2D reception in particular. While having got 28.5 why not try some of the 28.2 frequencies e,g, 12032 H 27500?
PS Just realised you are almost certainly in the UK (from earlier posts) --- which means there shouldn't be any issue with Astra 2D reception. As noted before, just scan for 28.2 frequencies.

Also check you transponder list corresponds with Lyngsat. To fine tune your dish you need to move it by a gnats pubic hair.( A mm or 2 at the most), as bigtee says, you dish can't discriminate between those 2 sats. Your dish is plenty big enough for 2D. Robbo ![]() |

Thanks again boys. I have the dish homed in on a really strong signal which i believe to be about 28+ degrees
Some channels i have at present: NHSt3, NHS V2t, NHS V1t, Channel M, Gaydate TV, Thomas Cook, Music India, Luxe TV, Luxe TV HD, Pitchgaming 2, Noor tv, Pulse, God Channel, Hollywood tv, TBN Europe, Al Jazeera Eng, Peace TV, God Europe, Islam Channel, Extreme sportss TVe1, plus 8 channels called Program followed by four digits. The latter ones and extreme sports are encrypted and a few of the others are not showing a picture - the religious stuff is all perfect of course My receiver came loaded with Astra 2 including 88 transponders. There was no listing for Eurobird 1 so i have added that and a few transponder numbers from Lyngsat. Once today i got 149 channels, like i did the first time i lined up on a satellite (but then lost it of course). I am getting to understand how it all works but am i missing something else? I feel like two whole days of my life have just gone down the drain as i am still in the same boat as when i started yesterday morning. I can't count the number of times i have been up and down the stairs and ladders over the last two days to rescan again and again ad infinitum after making minute movements. My patience is of legendary status but when it seems you are just banging your head against a brick wall it feels like time to give up. Surely it can't be as difficult as this or everyone who had ever tried it would have been taken away in straightjackets. Johniboi |

Strangely, most of the those channels are on 28.5E ( I didn't check them all).
Go to the receiver menu and pick a transponder from 28.2E and check what signal quality you are getting. Also if you flick through the transponders are there many that don't have good quality on them? You should be getting good quality on all the transponders that Lyngsat lists for 28E (more or less) No, you are right it isn't that difficult once you get the hang of it. When I start fiddling with my dishes ( which is most of the time) I take a portable TV out with me, so that I can view the sig quaility while moving the dish. It makes life so much easier. ![]() Robbo ![]()

Dont know if it would be of any use but _http://laurals.net/ has a section dedicated to the Fortec Passion with lots of how to's ,tips and tricks, and software ect.
The site suffers a few harmless pop ups and you have to wait for the front page to load (then click skip intro) but there is loads of useful information regarding this receiver. Just thought it might be useful ![]() Last edited by redoxide : 16-03-08 at 09:08 PM. |

Next up try the 2D transponders alone as listed in the Lyngsat link below; check if they are already in the receiver and, if not, scan them in manually.
Astra 2D at 28.2°E - LyngSat PS: for now leave the dish alone and do most of the rest of the work with the receiver and in front of the TV with a nice cuppa or pinta!

12643H27500 76% signal/72% quality 10936V22000 INTERMITTENT SIGNAL 10964H22000 68/84 11469H25500 71/49 11527V27500 72/75 11681V27500 73/55 12480V27500 72/74 The rest of the TP's are showing nothing Cheers, John |

Cheers Redoxide that site looks interesting. Do you know what the yellow stars on the right of some of the channels listed mean? I can't find a reference to it anywhere in the not-all-encompassing Passion instruction manual

Yes, those transponders are mainly Eurobird 1 , but your intermittent is on 2D.
It must just be that you dish is off, and you are just picking up the strongest ones. As before, pick a 2D transponder like 10773H, get the quality meter up, and while looking at it flex the dish in all directions, to see which way improves it. Then adjust the dish accordingly. |
