Question BBC News 24

Hi all,
Can someone please let me know what is happening with BBC News 24, I can't get it on the Dodgybox nor either Dreambox. I have rescanned the whole of the Sats at 28E, into the 7025, but still can't receive it. I don't get it on the Dodgybox, because I am in Ireland and it is added as an other channel.

Thanks for any information you can give me.

Very best regards Wez

Hi Wez, it seems to have shifted off 10773H and onto 11954H/27500, which is on 2A. Perhaps they are trying to make a bit more space on 2D.

Its on kingofsat

Lyngsat hasn't caught up yet though.

Hi robbo, Many thanks for the reply, It is very strange that it did not come up when I scanned the satellites at 28E, but maybe that transponder is not in my sat XML, I don't have 9E in my sat XML either. I am using captains settings from 19th Feb and you would think that it would be in it. but no way.

Very best regards Wez

I didn't realize it was gone until you mentioned it, and I also had a black screen in my EPG where the old transponder was being used.

I had to manually enter the transponder on my receiver too.

I too lost BBC News 24 for some weeks. Spent ages on the BBC web site and telephone to find out what was happening. No replies to emails, and no one I spoke to seemed to know anything about BBC News 24 on satellite. Today (April 1st - no it's not a spoof) I insisted on speaking to the News 24 news room. I told them their program had disappeared from Astra 28E, and that Freeview satellite viewers could no longer watch News 24. The woman I spoke to did not know this and was angry that 'all this hard work that we do, and it is not even going out properly...). Two hours later the programme reappeared on its usual channel. My conclusiion is that the BBC was not even aware that this problem existed. Mike.

Two hours later BBC News 24 went off the air again. I have now given up, but sent an email to the BBC's general complaints section, and pointed out that the World Wide Web is awash with people complaining that N24 has disappeared from Astra 28E, and just didn't know what was going on. Above all, I asked, did the BBC know about this situation, since none of the many, many, many people I have spoken to at the BBC seemed to know anything about it. Mike.

I don't understand what the problem is. It has not disappeared, it is still there on 11954H 27500.

Oops I didn't realize that, it has been there every time I have checked.
( which I admit is not that often)
