HI,

I am a beginner in lan receiver, i got a maxx 1000 (BT: 1.33 SW: T63 K31). I connected the receiver to my router but I can't have any access to the server. i tried under INTERNET button, my( NETWORK CONNECTION is ON) AUTO UPDATE CHECK (ON) Proxy server connection is on but the proxy server IP is on 255.255.255.255 and the peoxy server port on 0000.

By pressing OK on S/W Upgrade file 1 and 2 Download, the receiver ask me to put an http address.

you wont get much of an answer about your box on here and you may well be unlucky and bought a box which isn't capable of doing what you want it to,many MAXX 1000s are sold as being the same as another certain box but dont deliver.
However you have a PM.

Ah a hard wired card share box. First you need to spend an hour with Mr Google and see if there are any recent reports of that box working - the servers come and go all the time.

To be honest they are a bit of a dubious investment

MMmm i see it uses newcamd. Might be worth a punt for £30 just to see if i can get it to talk to the old Dreambox

The DM can use Newcamd so in therory it may well be possible

If it doesn't work i'll just give it to my mum to use as a FTA box

The http:// is automatically filled in. Press the RED button to start the download. The box will reboot automatically at the end of the download.

Hi sorry "hijack " as such but have been searching google about Maxx 1000 and came across this post. I am new to this as I have been using a Starveiw 4 to view cable but with the introduction of nagra 3 imminent it looks like its good bye . Not wishing to tread the Sky subs route again was looking for a cost effective alternative. Could anyone recommend something as I have no experience at this and searching google for something i know little about is giving me a headache. Just a couple of key words to google or any stickies or posts that cater for noobs and dont just treat them as idiots would be much appreciated. Once again sorry for the "hijack" but Iseem to be going round in circles many thanks Mal

it's easy to communicate with the maxx1000 box and upload a file. just connect the box to your router via the ethernet port, the box will aquire an IP address through DHCP from the router. then get to the internet settings of the box and get the IP address. type the IP address on your internet address bar of your computer and press enter. because your computer and the box are all on the same network, it will display the autentication window of the box asking for username and password.
the username : admin
password :8888 if not try 0000 but i think is 8888
after you have downloaded the software, you will see the browse botton and the upload botton in the box after you log into it.

i have done all that, but my problem is how to get a server and connect to it

Thanks

i have already posted how to up load. am doing it again.
i said connect the maxx1000 on to your router, it will then aquire an IP address through the router.
then go to the internet settings on the maxx1000,
find the IP addtess issued by the router.
use that IP address and type it on your internet browser and press enter.
it will then ask you for a username and password
username : admin
password : 8888
thats it you are inside the box.
now just browse to where you keep the file you want to upload, then press upload
thats it
