Question Yay... oh wait a minute

I finally got my sb4200 working.... now ive got a couple of questions.

1. Is my modem safe?

When i got my modem it had sigma on it, i couldnt get it to sync up so i tried entering all the details from my subbed modem, still no good so i put hackware on it and specified the frequency and it worked which was nice. So now ive got another working mac and forced a 20meg config and it works great. The problem is that "CM USB MAC Address" and "Ethernet MAC Address" reflect my subbed modem settings while "HFC MAC Address" and "CPE USB MAC Address" reflect my new mac. I cant find a way to change it.
Also on doing a "ipconfig /all" it says "lease expires" 1 hour after "lease obtained" That cant be right can it?

2. Is there a way to join 2 wan connections in windows.

I dont fancy paying for a load balancing router and there doesnt seem to be an easy way to do it in linux.

Thanks

Edit: Lease time looks ok now ive restarted the modem
