Default is it possible

Hi everyone. This is my first post in dvb-s section. I have read the posts in this section but am still none the wiser

I have a mini dish on the side of my house I just moved into. I decided to go Virgin media for tv and broadband istead of sky.

I would like to mess about with this dish anyway. Is it possible to watch skyone on my pc?

Cheers

It is possible as long as you have a valid subscription.

Any particular reason for sky 1? There is a great deal of tv that you can get from satellites other than the UK Astra 2 sat used by Sky UK.

I saw an advert for terry prachet's color of magic on skyone thats the main reason.

Could I point the dish in another direction to pick up EPL footie games from abroad?

I actually have two dishes, one is older and bigger. Looks like the minidish is the replacement and they never took down the old dish.

It is possible to watch a number of sky channels but not the full range. It's nice to use the PC as a recorder though I'm having trouble getting the EPG to work properly

The EPL is mainly on 16E which you need a subscription for but I would move the dish to either 1W for galaxiesport or 19E and watch it on Premiere
