THEIR not there, Italy ! . They got their independance from the French in the '50s. Where do you get your history and political views from? The Sun or the The Daily Star ?

! the italians invaded tunisia during the second world war. yes it was french colony and in the 50s they got there independantcy like algeria. But the italians/nazi germany did in fact take over the country for 4 years. The vichy govt in france was in fact was not the official govt of france during the war. the country was split into two german controlled and vichy controlled.that was in London . between 1939 and 45 . General De gaul was the true leader of france. (most of the rest of the govt either came with him or stayed and become puppets of the nazi .. The Italians was given middle east and african continent to do what they wish with it. unfortunatley they where not the best soldiers in the world and could not control the continents. hence why germany had to invade north africa. so i am corrected ! regarding tunisia. if it had not been for the world war 2 algeria and tunisia would have not got there ndependantcy from france .
