Default Receiver Guidance ?

By Doug7
So far the more I read the more confused I become.
I am new to this technology and would like some help on selecting items of equipment to receive FTA programmes(BBC/ITV). The equipment will be used in a campervan and at home (both uk only)
1. I have about £80 for a simple, intuitive and reliable receiver+remote handset (230V)
Could the receiver connect to a sky minidish(at home) and still receive FTA programmes.

2. Would probably use(campervan) a portable dish (60cm ?) on cost grounds. However will consider any suggestion.

3. Any suggestions for other essential accessories to make life easier when setting up.

4. Is there any essential reading that would help.

Thanks to All

Default Re: Receiver Guidance ?

Hi Doug7, your best and cheapest option would be to buy a seconhand sky digibox and get a free to view card which would get you BBC, ITV, 4 and 5 plus a lot of others. I am assuming you have either a 230 volt supply available via an inverter or site supplies.

If you do much continental travelling then you would need a larger dish and probably a different receiver for other satellites which would give you BBC world service plus a few others. Dish size etc would depend on the location at which you want to receive signals.

There are a few posts on here concerning campervan and caravan sat reception and I suggest you use the search button to see what is available.

One of our mobile members will probably answer your post re the methods of setting up.
