hi, all, 1st timer. had n*l/vm for years ,got basic pack plus a chipped box(pace) ,wife wants more stuff, read lots of info here and have seen lots of references to pc,s. do these boxes need to be connected to mine? should be easy for me cos my proper box is wired to pc for b/band. also do the boxes have a smartcard like a normal box? thanks in advance, paul kelly.

The starview, Eurovox etc do not need a smartcard and do not need to be connected to a PC to work - you may want to connect them to a PC to update the software or sort the channel list from time to time.
