Hi,
Going to fit my dish tomorrow after putting up the support beam today, weather got in the way of continuing the mount. I have looked on websites and work out that apparantly my dish elevation is around 23.7. The thing is, on the side of the measurement on the back of the dish, it has a scale of 30, 60, 90.Where would i measure the angle on that? The dish also has an offset angle of 24.62, will this make a difference? Thanks for your help, RamsFan |

Could you provide some more details regarding your setup?
Is this a fixed or a motorised dish? What satellite are you after? Can you explain the 30 60 90 a bit better, or post a photo? The scale on the back of a dish takes account of its offset angle, so for example if you want an elevation of 30 degrees, you just set the dish scale to that to start off with. Robbo ![]() |

Sorry about that, being vague.
Its a fixed setup, and I'm after the 28.2E Astra 2A-B-D satellite. Sorry cannot get a photo, not got anyway of uploading it onto my laptop. The scale on the back starts at one line then 30 deg, more lines, then 60 deg, more lines then 90 deg. Last edited by RamsFan : 21-03-08 at 10:27 PM. |

Hi Mate,
The first line on the scale is 30 degrees, the next is 40, then 50 and next will be the one marked 60, so just set the dish to a wee bit above the 30, you will need to move it anyway to get your dish peeked. Good luck with the install. Very best regards Wez

If you go to Satellite Dish Pointer / Alignment Calculator with Google Maps and enter your lat and long, it will give you the azimuth and elevation angles of any satellite you care to choose. If you plotted the values it gave you for the various satellites it would produce an arc. similar to this:-
