Davei, by all means shun the hard work of the settings compilers, but that is not an option for the majority of satellite users. In particular the Dreambox does not have a blind scan option, other than a not particularly good software plugin, so it is necessary to change many hundreds of transponder details if you want to go it alone.

Every new image that comes out has a reasonably up to date satellites.xml files which lists the transponders that has been prepared by the guys like Captain.

I am a great believer in making life as easy as possible so if the files are there why spend hours re-inventing them.

Hi Davei,

thanks for that info, I take it you are running LT4 on your box then, glad to hear it is stable, I had seen comments from others that there were issues with it.
I have looked around and can't find a tutorial for installation anywhere, not even on the LT site, do you know of anywhere please. Also, what cam & k*ys are you running with and what uploading file are you using for install, lots of questions from an absolute nobrainer here but all help really appreciated.

Question Re: Loading Enigma - Problem

Hi guys,

more trouble at mill !! I could not get rid of the enigma loading problem so decided to have a shot at the LT image, it loaded up to the box ok with Dreamup, booted up and accepted all the inputs ok and appeared to be working perfectly - for about an hour !! - it then crashed and the telly was reporting " no signal ". I have tried rebooting LT, reloading the Gemini latest and even tried Dream Media latest release, Dreamup goes through the motions and finally reports " image loaded successfully " but the box shows message " dhcp........./flash/bootlogo/el. Telly reports " no signal " Any help at all please

Mike: I'm afraid I don't know of any tutorial for LT installation - I did it via the slow null modem method. I mainly only use Cccam, and just update the Dreambox keys from time-to-time (I'm not really a very demanding user from that point of view).

Jim: I accept what you say about the convenience of settings for some users, and I haven't manually entered *every* transponder frequency myself - I tend to download the latest transponder list from Lyngsat (on the Dreambox) and then edit the sat identifiers (on PC) so that channels map correctly to my bouquets. Using the settings developed by others (no doubt involving hours of work) just hasn't worked for me.

Hi guys,

my problems are getting worse by the minute. I can no longer get the box to boot up properly at all, tried the LT4, latest from Dream Media and Gemini, have used 2 versions of dreamup and now running out of ideas. The box tries to boot but then dies within a few seconds of the initial boot - rebooting does not work. Could it be my compact flash (1gb) is at fault or corrupt ? Is there a way of formatting CF ? I have worked my way through everything I can think of so far. Any suggestions please.

I could never get my DM7020 to work properly with a compact flash card. I'd throw it and get a USB stick instead if i was you. They're definately less troublesome than a CF and they are dirt cheap on the likes of ebay

You can format your CF on a multicard reader on your PC if your desperate

Hi Nano,

thanks for that, I am going to get hold of a new CF card tomorrow to test my theory out, I just can't think what else can be causing the problem. I have a 2gb memory stick doing nothing at the moment, is it an easy procedure and is there a tutorial anywhere that you know of please, thanks

Check your PMs Mike

Just plug it into the back, reboot your Dreambox and then run flash wizard to setup the stick. Should be the same procedure on the 7025

I would shy away from the CF mate. I tried 3 of them in my 7020 and had the same problem

Hi Nano,

I have tried what you said but Flashwizard does not work with the 7025. I have a card reader/writer, can you tell me how to set the cf up on my computer. I have also tried to flash from browser today but still no boot up. Is there something I am missing ( bootloader corrupt maybe ), or anything else that you can think of. I am going cross eyed with this right now.
