mdapi crahsed mediaportal after install - Techwatch: Satellite TV forums, FTA, Cable, Hardware, & Tech forums

I've installed mdapi filter onto my computer exactly as dvbn forums says but now when I run tv, I get the dvb icon in the system tray, but mediaportal crashes?

please help.

I have the same issue it comes up with the error tvserver.exe had had to close.

Anyone got any ideas?

Fixed the crashing of tvserver.exe in media portal:

1. Search for mdapicards.xml
2. Open the file with notepad
3. you now have to rename the TV card because the card's name contains an invalid character such as a forward slash.
(e.g. "technotrend BDA/DVB Capture0") change the name inside the brackets to anything that doesnt have an invalid character e.g. change it to "TV card 1"
4. Save the file
5. Start tvserver
