Fs Passion Hd Receiver Questions?

Just bought one from maplins with a motorized set up.Problem ive got is that the remote clashes with my hitachi tv , has any one else had same prob and resolved it ?

How do you mean 'clashes' with it?

I use my remote solely for the receiver, nothing else. When sitting down to watch TV I have 3 remotes by my side

The remote also operates some of the tv functions .so when you press any button ,the tv channel changes or the volume changes etc. I have e-mailed fortec star and they are aware of the problem,but they lay the blame down at hitachi claiming they use consumer electronics codes and not tv codes for their remotes ?
They advise putting tape on thr infra-red button on the tv . Welcome to the 21st century of consumer electronics !
