Default PC to HDTV

Hi guys!

Wanted some advice regarding connecting PC(dvi) to HDTV(hdmi)

In my PC i have a Radeon 7000 VE with a DVI-I output

Just woundering if i'd be able to connect that to my HDTV

Will the quality be good, i mean will i be able to read the text on the screen, or isit not worth connecting?

Many thanks in advance

It should be perfectly ok. You may have to play about with the vidoe format and resolution though. Dont forget, you wont get sound via the dvi output.

You dont need to provide the LCD native resolution signal to the tv. The tv automatically converts the received signal to its native resolution.

What you need to do is provide the resolution that the tv likes best. The signal conversion software varies in different tvs so you may need to play with it to see which is best. I cant actually remember which resolution I found to be best on my Panny but I think it was the one I use for my pc monitor. 1280 x 960

The resolution you supply to the screen doesn't completely dictate the size and shape of the picture on screen. You should have a control on your screen remote control that allows you to change the aspect ratios of the picture to show everything. Unfortunately that sometimes means that you see little fat dwarfs depending on the original picture shape.
