Post Illegal set top boxes found in raid
Over 250 illegal digital TV set top boxes have been found in house raided by the police in Wigan; this followed a police operation that attended the Wigan Computer fair, where they arrested a man who was selling the set top boxes. These were standard free to air set top boxes which had been modified [...]



THESE WERE CABLE BOXES NOT SATELLITE BOXES

E Bay is full if them, unless they were hacked for Sky,but if for foreign programmes, and for private use they are legal, but they may well have been knocked off, need more info on this one.

they were cable boxes not satellite,eurovox max Vs as sold by our very own lincsat lol
only illegal once theyve been flashed
Two Arrested Over Free View Boxes (from This Is Lancashire)

Thanks for that ronster, Im not into cable(only coax), I presume hacking into virgin is illeagle for home use and not for profit,unlike Sat from abroad which appears OK for private use,

They were eurovox black boxs, wondered why he wasnt there this week!!

says in this report there were some "v1gin media branded" (sammys + pace)ones so if they were modded v1rgin boxes surley the net IDs would be wrong when taken home to a different area,unless in a pure area maybe!!!

Sounds like Wigan is the flash capital, what a pillock £4K in cash left around,mind you,I bet the other £40K is stashed under the pier.
