Arm bent on polar mount

strange that it bent like that as those polar mounts I've known to last years with them only needing repainting to get rid of rust.

I'd get a thicker piece made for it, in case you ever use the set up again.

just wondering what the hole further down is for ?

if you bolt the actuator to that hole does it shorten or make the dish track the arc more?

as i've used a jaeger 1224 motor instead of polar mount on my andrews dish

The inner hole is for getting more of the arc covered, but I had it in the outer one because it is that wee bit more accurate in fine tuning the positions. I did think the same as you, that if I had the actuator on the inner hole it would stop the arm bending as quickly again and I might even get further round the arc.
