HI ALL, some of my channels are missing and other channels are freezing, when i move the coax cable around in the back of my box the signal gets better for about ten minutes then goes back to how it was again, can someone please tell me which is the best coax cable to get and the cheapest, some people are saying there is a problem with the ends of the cable, if so whats the best way to get the best connection when fixing both ends, i have already stripped the wire back and put foil round the braided wire then stuck the connector on the end, its a plug on connector but it keeps falling off the wire dont even fit in the connector but it was fitted in there before i ripped them both off, any ideas on how to fix the cable wire or where can i get a good one which will hold a good signal for cheap, cheers.

No,No,No, You doing it all wrong
![]() Here is a guide to put the F-connectors on properly How to fit F Connectors to coaxial cable Follow that, and you shouldn't have a problem, If you do, it may be that the connectors are not quite right for the cable. The best cable is not the cheapest cable. However for what you want wf100 should do the trick. Satcure sell it by the metre and will put the conectors on for you if you want, they also sell connectors that have been selected to fit nicely onto the wf100 cable. It's approx £30 for 100m, or 50p a metre. Robbo

RG6 is only ok if its a short run, it has too much loss for anything over 20 meters or so. Your best to use WH/CT 100.
I like Webro cable aswell as its what we use at work ![]() ![]() Nano

daviddawn you need to refit the f connector as that will solve your problem by the sound of it
cable wise i always use webro wf100 as its a nice cable and now comes in different colours on satcure, as brown cable looks nicer against the brick. |

Might also be an idea to allow an extra millimeter of length on the core of the cable where it goes into the F connector so that when you plug it into your box, the core goes way into the socket before screwing the whole thing tight at the back - sometimes the core "retreats" into the insulation and connections can be intermittent.
