The biggest joke of all is 20,000 bits of luggage without there owners. Why open the terminal before they checked that everything was not running. From what i here they never actually tested the equipment so BA decided to do the testing with live passengers. Sorry BA and Heathrow airport it did not work.

BA flights are all cancelled now they at least should have tested before opening the terminal 'Cancelled flights, baggage delays and a temporary suspension in check-in have blighted the opening day of Heathrow's new £4.3bn Terminal 5.'

My work involves a lot of travelling, with my colleagues and I frequently visiting washington and new York. However, since the advent of the "New super duper T5", BA no longer fly from Heathrow to Washington, instead its all Gatwick from now.
very strange indeed..
