Default The Box PVR-any good?

Hi all, thinking of getting 'The Box PVR', just wondering after reading up on these. Has anybody got one that actually works?

Yes they work, but do have problems with EPG as per all SVs.

Ive got a pvr, i think its rubbish its not a patch on the euro vox max which i also have which seems to have a lot better software and support than the pvr it also receives more channels and dont even get me started on how you have to organise the channels on the pvr .
the second tuner is half arsed ! doesnt even pick up the same channels as the 1st tuner .also the epg is really slow!! if i change channel on my euro vox it shows instantly the now and next on epg .if i do the same on the pvr it takes about a min to show what is on now and it doesnt say whats on next .
i spent £200 on "the box pvr" and a hard drive i cant tell you how gutted i am, ill never buy a star view box again
my advice would be to wait and see when the euro vox max pvr comes out and get that i

That is not the soon to be released Eurovox PVR, it is just Max V with a seperate HD and is not the official Eurovox PVR.

I bought the box pvr and mostly I am disappointed. Certain things about it are good, like the pic quality, speed of channel change etc., but, the PVR side is rubbish. You CANNOT rely on it to make a recording, sometimes it does, sometimes it just doesn't. And sometimes it says the recording is there, but it won't play back.
As a straight cablebox it is good (apart from the poor EPG), but forget the recording side, connect it up to a dvd rcorder.
Also the company I bought it from skywo***r are really bad. I bought a 250gb package, but the hard drive was faulty. after ages trying to contact them they finally sent me an address to send it to, which i did by recoreded delivery, and now they have my hard drive and no replies back! 4 months they have screwed me about.
my advice, stay well away from the box pvr, and even further from sky bloody wonder.

i was the same zorbax when i got mine but was quickly helped on here so i will be glad to repay the favour
press menu
then i think setup
then parental control
and on the second pin press ok and enter 2007 to access the hidden menu
and enable the emulation and set the cable provider to the correct one (which is what ever cable company you had in the area before V*rgin took over)
then save it and exit
then go to installation and do a scan
it will then search for your channels
i hope that helps mate as im not the best at explaining stuff lol
