Hello out there , is it necessary to have the technomate 1600 in standbye when upgrading or entering new information from the computer ?

No, as long as it is switched on at the back, it can be in standby or fully on.

How does one get to be able to ask more questions or as you say posts ??? i dont know how to do this . i have to have 5 posts what doe this mean

Just ask, there is no 5 -post requirement at all.
POST CLOCKING will get you nowhere as they will be deleted.
