On quite a few of the cheaper recorders (no offence intended) they have to have the Aerial coax connected to the RF in on the recorder (even if you don't use the aerial) & the Eurovox connected via the scart. The usual symptoms if this is not done are white sparkles on the screen &/or horizontal scrolling image sometimes without sound.

I have the coaxal connected as well thats how I am recording off the eurovox now, My dad also hase one of these players and has a perfect picture but he has an older eurovox (RED) I have put a harddrive recorder onto the scart input on the recorder and is perfect so I gather the problem does start with the eurovox!
