Question Failure to Power Up.

Hello to all and thanks for all the advice and tips I've used over the last 18 months whilst I've been stuggling with my Euro-Vox Max. Although I've never posted before I've been a regular guest.
I've now got a problem that I've not been able to find a similar thread for and therefore needed to post.
I've just returned back from a holiday having unplugged everything whilst I was away and can't get my box powered up.
I've checked the obvious fuse and power cable, but they appear fine.
Is it that my box has just packed up due to being powered down for 2 weeks and is knackered or is this a known problem that can be easily fixed?
Has any-one else had a similar issue and been able to resolve it without box replacement?

Thanks in advance.

Have a look inside the box at the capacitors (cylinder shaped components)for any sighns of leakage or on the under side of the cover for slight brown staining.the circuits boards inside these boxes are of quite poor quality and could of took a powersurge when you reconnected.i have both my boxes plugged into power surge extensions to hopfully avoid any surge damage

Thanks for rapid response ronster.
I've had a good look around inside and it all looks brand new.
I'll have another good look tomorrow in the day light, but it's looking pretty terminal at the moment.

Their might not even be a leakage, check to see if they have "bulged" or expanded.

Look for bulging on the capacitors,

Thanks for all the help and advice.
I've completely stripped it all down and examined every millimeter.
All I can find is that the capacitor C14 on the main power board (pictured 2nd from the top row and 4th from the left on Tom2k7's photo) has a slightly convexed dished top when all the rest have flat top.
Does anyone know if you can just buy a new power board shown in the photo?

C14, if that capacitor doesn't have a flat head, i'm pretty sure that this is the problem. Could someone else post here and confirm that please?

Yep C14 is the usual culprit just do a search here this has been discussed numerous times and you will find links to where to get replacement caps etc.

I've been reading through other threads and the C14 capacitor has been quoted as 1000uF 16V part number VH50 from Maplin, however I've just extracted mine from my box and it's more like 1000uF6.3V (or possibly 0.3V) anyone know which one I should buy?
It's green as well (one shown in pic is blue) and has GF105 deg C, C606 VENT CAPXON on it as well if this helps.

Cheers

Just been to Maplin and replaced the C14 capacitor.
Found out that the 6.3 was the maximum voltage so bought the 16V as advised.
Works great now.
Thanks for all the help.
