Its common now to have Sky spys travel around pubs, several have been
fined, the Sky spys get paid commission for finding pubs showing soccer without the pint on the screen. The spys are usually baliffs moonlighting
according to a mate at Wrexham County Council.

All this has no effect on on what you watch at home,or how you are able to watch it.

NDS are the ones that are sending the spies out for this, they are paying people upwards of £500 to rat on pubs that are using domestic systems to show matches, this is easily seen as a pub or premis using a signed up subscription ie a public house sub the screen shows a pint glass in the corner of the screen,so any premise showing a match that is minus this detail is easily spotted, nds then pounce and the landlord cops a hefty fine and loses his own domestic subs.

And now with the lighter days, those showing via Albania & Greece have the giveaway blue Triax 1 meter dish pointed away from 28 east.
A club and a couple of pubs local have these, good luck to them,I may have mentioned before two pubs local only open now Wed to Sun, no trade, have been quoted a minimum of £400 a week by Sky.
But yes the spys are well paid, not sure wether its £500 tip off, or as a result of a conviction, hope they get gelded.

One of the tricks they have is to phone pubs they know have domestic sky,but not the commercial one.And ask them if they have the big match on.If the answer is yes, gotcher.

There must be more sophisticated methods than this?
Such as a video overlay, should be enough to fool the spies.

During the war, spys were hanged, now they are rewarded.

How times change.
