Are you on a fixed dish?

The Dreambox searches through the transponders that are listed in satellites.xml file until it finds a reasonable signal and it locks. Once it locks it scans all transponders on that sat and enters them. If you cant get a lock on a satellite your dish must be mis-alligned or you may be scanning the wrong satellite transponder list.

If your receiver can't get a lock on a transponder it won't be able to scan it.

Which satellite is the dish pointing at, and what size dish is it?

7west. One of the strong verticals. Only an 80cm motorised dish.

I know it's possible to receive certain TP's as i had them crystal clear before on me old box but with low signal.

Which transponder?

Also the signal level is dependent on time of day, it is better late evening until the morning, but is worse during the day. Also your receiver may not be as sensitive as your previous one. Also dish alignment is critical.

Yes, they are three of the strongest. Try it later on tonight after 9 or 10pm,

if you still can't get them it is probably down to your receiver not being as sensitive, if you are sure your dish is right.

You may need a bigger dish, not all receivers have the same sensitivity.

A bigger dish may get you the MBC channels as well.

Hi rage,
I have a feeling that your dish must not be right on the satellite, if it were you should be getting a good enough signal to lock onto. There is not way round it, you need to get a fix on some transponder. Did you try to scan the satellite even though you have no got a lock, if you reckon that you have the dish pointed at 7W then it would be worth a try anyway? I am too far west and can't get a lock on 7W, not that I want to, I am sure if I had a fixed dish on it I would be able to get 7W.

Very best regards Wez

Success I managed to get around 3 transponders. One of which is showtime but can break up in wind.

Here are the stats....

SNR: 78% AGC: 77% BER: 5158
