Question Does the dish material matter ???

I've had a hunt through the forum and goolge, and can't seem to find anything that advises if the colour / material used in the dish has any effect on the signial...

I was looking at a Clear dish but want to ensure that it will still give me as good a signal as say a solid or mesh dish. Has anybody had any experience with this ???

Thanks
Rich

PS : The new kitchen arrived today.. so I should be able to get all my new toys soon !

I don't have a clear dish, but I know of people who do. They seem to perform quite well and are popular if the best location is in a prominent position such as on the front of the house. They are impregnated with mesh to reflect the signal.

More common are steel, or aluminium (slightly more expensive). You can paint them to blend them in with the surroundings - any colour. Use matt car spray paint, anything too shiny may melt your lnb in the heat of the sun.

I have painted my dishes and it did not make a blind bit of difference, they are all steel by the way.
