Newbie needs help with dbox

Hi a mate of mine just brought a dbox to me and said i could have it due to it not working he got it with dvb2000 in debug mode and it wont find anything where do i start? im uk cable area

If you like doing things the hard way stick with the Dbox1 (DVB2000)
If you'd like an easier route, buy a Dbox2.

If it's got three scart sockets and no ethernet port, it's a dbox1.......chuck it in the bin as its not worth the hassle trying to get it up and running,even if you do it will never AU and you will forever need to update it every keyroll.
