Default Posting in these forums.

Not sure what I did wrong - I posted a question at the end of the sticky in "Satellite for Beginners > How many coaxial cable feeds do I need?"

As the question remained unanswered, I started a new thread "Satellite for Beginners > Splitting a feed", linking back to the thread above, but when I submitted it a popup message stated that the message would have to be approved by a moderator.

Hi,

It is best to start a new thread rather than tagging onto the end of an old one,

so I have made you a new thread:-

Two receivers from one LNB??

Your other post contained a link, which is automatically moderated by the forum software for new members.

Robbo

No, when you have more than 10 posts under your belt, which you have.

As long as the link is within the forum rules.

Just as well it was, as you would have got an infraction for posting a link to illegal material.

I don't know what the site was, but it may have one that is censored automatically by the forum software. No links to dodgy files are permitted.

aviz06 - listen to robbo and don't put the site at risk (intentionally or not). If the live link ain't to another thread within the forum then don't post the live link.

No one would appreciate putting the forum at risk so better to be safe

The problem is that forums are routinely targeted by spammers - if we didn't have any automated anti-spam processes at work, the forums would end up looking like my email inbox - porn, pills, and pill email ads all posted into the forums.

The 10 post limit is just one method we use to stop the bots and human spammers doing this.

Hope that helps.
