recording from eurovox

can the eurovox be connected with a dvd to enable recording and should i have my nthell digital box connected as well in order to watch something else while i am recording assuming that the answer to all or any of these questions is yes does anyone know how to do it , bearing in mind that i am not that familiar with all this technical stuff, although i must say have found this site invaluable as a source of information and unlike others i have visited people will take the time to explain in plain language what you need to do, which is great any help appreciated
