It has nothing to do with being protective about our knowledge base or anything else along those lines, but when the same question is asked over and over and over again, it gets to the stage where you can't help people because you're reading through the same old drivel all the time. I will help anyone who wants help if I can, and do it with pleasure, but if people are simply too idle to do as I and lots of others did, and look for what they need to know then there will be a lot more repeated posts and irate people who can't get the help they need.

This is a forum for advice and assistance, not spoonfeeding people who 'can't be bothered'.

I'm sorry if that sounds a bit harsh but just sitting down and reading the stickies and other posts will teach you a hell of a lot more than I could, because there's a better than even chance that what you want to know has already been asked and answered.

Rant over, soapbox put away. Let's have a drink.

Thanks Ronster. I didn't want to rave on like that but it just seems unnecessary to fill the forums with the same things over and over. It was so slow refreshing last night and I imagined that every third post said more or less the same thing.
