Default Is this the end?

Hi,
Just wondering what your thoughts are on the code changes of recent that have impacted our beloved Eurovox boxes.
I have sorted mine out with the new codes but do you think this will happen a lot?
As I understand it there have now been 2 updates which suggest it may be daily.

But do you think that if they do it for a month…a LOT of people…like my Mum and loads of older people who have one and are not too clever on PC’s will just bin them and then that could be considered a hefty win for Virgin.
There are always gonna be some who can figure stuff out and the others will just have to put their hands in their pockets!

I wouldn't say a hefty win for Virgin. Most people who have "extra" channels also have a subscription with virgin. About £20 a month usually.

If these people get p*ssed off with Virgin, then they'll just cancel their subscription, because what's the point of the basic package? They don't even have Sky 1 now.

So Virgin may lose a lot of customers as well if they're not careful.

Besides, with the torrent phenomena, conventional TV might just become obsolete. People will prefer to download most of their stuff, whether it's paid for or not.

It totally depends on how much longer virgin want to do that.there was a thread on this forum before 1st April about these upgrades and everybody thought its april fool gimmick but than happen. now if i believe that fella than it will last for 1 more week.

To me the serious problem is that we have to totally rely on the Bigmaq and if they loose the interest in it than its a serious problem for all of us.

BigMaq is just convenient. He is by no means the be all or end all of 'free' cable.

People who log keys email BigMaq with the latest keys (since he can only provide the keys to the area he lives in). I myself have sent him keys on various occasions.

If BigMaq stops providing the service, then we'll all have to start logging keys (i.e. do things the hard way).
