I have a pace virgin media box which until 2 days ago was getting free channels. I know nothing about chipping boxes, fun cards etc. Is there anyone here that can tell me what I need to do?

sam,

you will find all the answers just a bit of hunting and reading that alls

the long and short of it thou is

you will require a card programer and the software and some fun cards

you will need to know model of pace box and the keys

( I KNOW THE WORDING IS ALL ALIEN BUT THE MORE YOU READ THE EASYIER THINGS BECOME REALLY THEY DO !!! )

then the rest is a case of reading and learning m8

you will find peopl in here are very willing to help as long as you are willing to help yourself a tiny bit as well

sorry cant point you in the direction of sorting it right away but really is a case of seek read and you shall find

Find and read the thread Funcard Tutorial. Lots of jargon but to start you off, 'tut' is short for tutorial - read as much as you can, and then ask questions.

do i need to open the box or anything or is everything just done to the card?

Everthing is done via card, if it has gone off with key roll

Does your card have the BK and IRD numbers hand written on the card or on the box. If so, no need to open the box. If not, more complicated, you need to read up.

I'm having a look at novice angel guide but this has the box top taken off.
What should I really be doing - my box used to get all the channels but now there just BLANK screens (i.e. they don't say you've not subscribed to this channel).
If i get USB programmer will that be enough?

don't worry about box taken off as u don't have to do it. your box was already chiiped so my best guess is that talk back is off. so no worry on that side.

you will need the programmer ( u already have funcard with you, don't you) and some software like nagra edit and so.
