What about if I don't have the port on my computer, can I use the rs232 to USB one for my PC or does it have to be the 9 pin to 9 pin?
I'm restricted to what I've got because I'm using a laptop. Cheers M Last edited by MJTG; 10-04-08 at 03:28 PM. |

You can use the usb one but its hit and miss whether it will work on not it could knacker your box up. I think there is a PCMCIA to rs232 for the laptop but im not sure how good these are either

hmmmm.... not sure if I want to risk it if it could knacker the box, would someone with the 9 to 9 pin be able to sort the box out if the USB cable did knacker it up?

I use a usb to serial lead on my laptop and it works perfectly. I plug it into the usb port, attatch the null modem cabel to it and it registers on com port 4. Communicates with the eurovox perfectly. Got it from a local computer shop.
Its made by GR Kabel if your interested. Hope this helps.
