In anticipation of the new Firmware which will be here soon(hopefully!!) I have a few questions:
1. I don't have a serial port on my P.C, so do I need to buy one of those Null Modem Cable to USB adapter thingy??? 2. What software do I need to connect my Eurovox to the P.C?? 3. When I load the new Firmware onto my Eurovox, will the channels all stay in the same order?? Thanks in advance! |

1. Yes, that's what I use.
2. The firmware update is all you need. 3. Maybe, maybe not, but the last few firmware updates allow you to make a backup of your channels before installing the firmware anyway, so it's no big deal. All you do is backup your channels, install the firmware, then if your channels have disappeared, restore them from the backup. |

I know you've read before you asked and all these key requests have overwhelmed the useful information
1. You can buy an adapter - but they only work for some people and not for others. a) You can buy a Serial PCI card and install it on your PC. b) Ask a m8 for the use of their PC 2. The firmware is a unified with the loader so basically you run a bin file on your pc, this locates the connected box and you then hit the download button. 3. Before you click the Download button there is an upload button. This allows you to upload a CDF (Channel Definition File) onto your PC. When you have downloaded the firmware, you simply download this CDF file back onto your box. To anticipate your question, new firmware as it becomes available can be located in the UK Cable/Private FTA section of this forum and also available on your bigMAQ toolbar Guess I took too long writing this one!!
