just a quick pionter, I am new but I understand the concept slightly, if you look at your box top you can see a shinny box there is a picture on the first thread, you count how many slots there are where you can see the metal box and that is the way to find out which one you have, also there is a thread which tells you how to see if you have a clone which you should read before you try anythank as if you try and flash a clone you will damage your box, hope this helps

How old is your m8s box? and what colour is it physically eg. black, silver, both? Have you checked to make sure it's not a clone?

Morning Folks.
Sorry if I'm going over old ground here, but loaded the new software onto my Eurovox Max V at the weekend. Seemed to cope OK with the first roll that V**g*n did on the 28th, but last night I had the old "Codes being updated" message again - BUT this is the first time I've been able to view unscrambled channels (BBC1, ITV1, Ch4 etc). Do you think it's because the software wasn't loaded onto the Eurovox properly. Should I just do it again and see what happens? Any advice would be gratefully received.

Did your box eventually update or did you manually update it?

Left it "updating codes" for about half an hour last night, but nothing happened. Thought 30 minutes was a bit of a long time. Ronsters' guide said it would only take 10 mins max - or could it take longer?

Left it searching last night before I went to bed, but didn't get a chance to check it this morning.

Check the software version on your box (in case your update didn't work) by going to Menu, Config and System Information, what's the date beside S/W Ver - this should tally with the firmware date.

Some peoples boxes did seem to take an inordinate amount of time to update. But this might help.

Go to Menu, Language Settings and key in 19681968 on your remote. Arrow across <> till you find your provider and highlight their first line. Now press the yellow button (Default Key).

Return to Language Settings screen and key in 1968 once. Emulation and EMM Capture should appear on your list - make sure these are enabled.

Now switch off and on your box and change channel to sly sports.

One of my bos=xes did the same yesterday as well - both have the same soft vsn and are the same box? I put codes in manually in the end, funny thing is they both updated fine a few days ago??

If it happens again maybe I will re-flash it
