You can buy them in most PC shops, maplins, fleabay and lincsats nick-nack shop (at the bottom of this forum).
It is a NULL MODEM cable or an rs232 NULL MODEM cable and there is a picture on the first post of this thread showing what the plugs at each end look like

Soldering jobbie for you
![]() You still need that cable though if you are going to update the firmware on your boxes. You have to be specific about the cable having to be a NULL MODEM cable (it is wired differently to a standard rs232 cable which would not work for you)

The broken box won't repond until you have replace the blown capacitor.
A standard rs232 serial cable (or straight thru) cable will not work for you connecting a pc to these boxes as the internal wiring on the cable is not compatible for the connection. You must use an rs232 NULL MODEM cable (the internal wiring is different to a straight thru cable). If you are using a serial to USB adapter then your connection will be Eurovox > NULL MODEM cable > serial to USB adapter > PC

Yes you will get a 'waiting for response' message. That is a specific as the message gets and covers anything from invalid port no., incorrect rs232 cable etc.
