Hi
need a little help.
Just got a eurovox max-v 2008 box today (black in white packaging) and seen that I'm new to this stuff.the box came with no software installed. This note came with it.
The Eurovox Max V 2008 is sold BLANK you will not be able to switch it on until software has been installed all you will get is four green lines and a red light. Please do not send emails regarding faulty Eurovox’s until software has been applied. Do I install the ufl-kuro image-18-04-08? Do I plug the box into the mains but on stanby? sorry for the daft questions.(newbie). I've got the null modem cable L71BT and a usb-Serial adaptor compatable with Vista which my laptop works on.Area teeside ntell. what symbol rate do I use.
any help appreciated.

Go to page one of this very thread as it is explained there. Yes you use the 18/04/08 Max V firmware and your symbol rate is 6887.

McPutters has given a good step by step here EV2 Firmware Update Guide

The process is the exact same for you except you will be using the Eurovox 1 firmware dated 14/4/08 to load onto your EV1

McPutters guide gave instructions on uploading your channel list to your pc before flashing (Step7) and downloading it back to the box after (Step 11) - if you did this then you removed the need to rescan.

The ability to back-up and restore your channel list is incorporated into all the UFL's as well as dnupman so in the future you should include these steps when updating the firmware on any model EV to save you having to re-scan and re-sort favs
