parity= none

my computer recognises it and says it's ready to use but it does not communicate with the euro box
Hi mitford, those settings are fine as they were the same as mine before I flashed my box and everything worked fine.

Ok cheers mate. I gave up and went and borrowed my mates laptop with the rs232 female output and it worked first time. I have ordered a pci card so it shouldn't be a problem in the future

Scousewill, all I know is that I checked my port settings before I flashed my box and the settings that were already stored worked fine. So personally I wouldn't mess about with the settings, the only thing I can suggest is to check whether you have the right cable.
Also if you right click on My Computer and then go to hardware and then device manager, make sure you have your ports enabled by right clicking the relevant ones.
Those are my only suggestions, but I am sure there is someone more qualified on the forums to give you perhaps more fruitful advice.

Thanks Sajid it seems to be working now i ditched the USB cable & used the adaptor cable i bought to use with the USB directly from my COM port to the box - shame i didn't know that would work before i spent out on the USB tho! Live & learn as they say - thanks for the advice anyway

Scouse will check the followiing I posted
If u are having problems updating firmware via USB to serial cable using voxer (perhaps other update apps) u might want to check the following:

When I have tried it - Voxer tried to use Com3. I cant see a away of changing this

The Usb-serial port might be recognised at something other than com3 ..perhaps com 5 or 6 etc. So Voxer cannot see the Eurovox through Com 3

U need to go into Device manager - from there u should see what the USB -serial is being seen as e.g com 5 or 6 etc

I think from there u can click on the Com5or 6 serial device and go into advanced from there u can rename the device to com3 using a drop down box. Click OK.

Now Voxer can talk out of correct com port and see the eurovox

Sorry all from memory really
Hope it helps someone

Apparently the rs232-usb connection are a bit hit and miss they don't work for me and im using xp, i know people have a lot of trouble with vista. The best thing to do is order a pci card or use some one elses computer with a rs232 connection

Hi

I only bought my box about 2 weeks ago. It a eurovox max V 2008. The box is white/grey with very light blue shading towards the bottom.

A few questions. Im sorry if this makes me sound really thick.

How do I know if my box is a clone?
Do I have a blue box or is it the 'black 08'

In the box came a remote, batteries, a cable adaptor and the RS232 cable.

Please help me.
