Talking Re: Ronsters Guide To Flashing Box For Newbies

Hi Desi you need a null modem cable usb covertor as i had same problem and got one from ebay but you can easily buy in Maplin etc. It connects the nine pin side onto a usb end and therfore you stick it in a spare usb slot and your sorted.

the ev2 file is a bin file no ufl (unified loader) so you need to extract it then load it into dnupman.Read the idiots guide thread

When you click on the name ev_2_fix_140408 and it opens, you need to highlight the bin file and click on the Extract button and save the bin file to your PC.

Next you need to follow the instructions on the second post here REQ: Idiots Guide To Updating Firmware On Eurovox Max

well i saw a guide here that showed pictures of how to distinguish btw a clone and an original with a warning that the firmware might brick the clone box, I've checked mine and its similar to the pic of the clone box, thats why i ask. You sure i could use the 18/04/08 firmware?

I'm not aware of any clone safe firmware for the MaxV. If you are going to try the 18/4/08 firmware, be careful as it could brick the box (not straight away but after a few days).
