So I take it all I have to do is upload the new file wait for the process and connect my box to the tv and do a powerscan.
Will this propcess get rid of the updating codes business and willi get all my channels working again? I've seen threads about ppl can not get channels to work and then they have to start messing with the setting, will I have to go through with this too |

what you need to do
connect your box to the PC with a null modem cable connect power supply to your eurovox (these are the only cables to be connected unless using USB adaptor) first press the upload button to upload your channel data file to your computer press the top download button to download the flash file to your box press the bottom download button to download your channel data file back to your box disconnect from PC and connect to TV, insert all required cables no need to scan all the channels will be how you had them before updating and will automatically update when k**s roll. |

Do these firmware work with a Pace 1000 box? If So, is it the same process, and how do you check the current firmware version on the box?

you load a cdf file to your box using the Unified Flash Loader
connect your box to your PC via the null modem cable and connect power to box run the loader and press the Browse button, this will open an explorer window where you can browse to your saved cdf file click on the file and press the save button, this will put the file into the loader click on the download button (the one between upload and edit) and this will load the file to your box. connect back to TV and all channels should be up and running |

The process for the PVR is exactly the same just using the 5000 PVR 1.1a firmware.
The NULL modem connection is not a network connection so you cannot 'view' the EV only coummunicate with it. When you say back the file up are you referring to your Channel Data File? If so, then you simply launch the UFL, under the Channel Data section browse for a location and name for the file to be created on your pc and click on the 'Upload' button to upload the channel data to this file. After you have flashed the firmware onto the box then under the Channel Data section click on the Download button to download the channel data back from your PC to your EV.
