Cloned Or Not Cloned. 06/07 How To Tell

you should be able to tell with all the pictures and information here
but the link posted by freebird has more clear pictures, if you copy them and zoom in a bit you can see slight differences on the circuit board,
freebirds link Eurovox Ireland(The only official supplier of the Eurovox Max satellite receiver in Ireland)

if you look at the pics on that site
you will see just below the big large chip theres a white printed square,
next to that is a small chip on the original,
and appears to be missing on the clone pic

also theres a metal can around the scart socket on the original and not on the clone

all you can do is look very closely at the circuit boards, and make a comparison, there are a lot of differences if you look.

well guys it really hurts me to say this but my box is a clone not happy?

does anyone think or know of any updates for clones?

just out of interest, what is the date of your software loaded in your receiver
in the menu/ information

If your blue box is a clone DO NOT load software more recent than Feb 07 as the newer updates will brick your box ie. render it useless

yes, you wont be able to load any software dated later than that, or you will end up with a brick,
im no expert on clones, but ive heard say you can buy a small chip and solder it in to make it apear an original,
but until some clone safe software comes available or you modify your box, it looks lke your stuck with putting keys in every time theres a rollover

I heard if you put a sticker on it saying 'Genuine' then it will become an original.
