hey, thanks for the tut is very helpful but i am having some problems that i think you could help me with i have downloaded the firmware i have a serial-usb converter with driver installed its plugged into my pc box is on stand by when i open the firmware program and hit download it gives an error message saying no available COM port..... please could you help me to find a solution.

I think I have a bit of a problem.

I've checked my Eurovox Max Blue is not a clone, got the appropriate firmware update and connected PC with RS232 cable (I was sure it is NULL Modem as it came along with the box when purchased).

I can upload successfully to make the channel copy - to be on the safe side, I also made a copy of the channel data to a cdf file using Voxer.

When I then go to download the firmware it appears to connect successfully on Com1 and to go through the download process. HOWEVER - upon conclusion of the process it always says "Download Failed" (5 tries).

Do not get me wrong - box appears to be still receiving channels fine and I even re-downloaded the channel data apparently successfully.

Reason for my post is the worrying "Download Failed" message as I'm concerned it has not actually updated the box at all. One bit that does look corrupted is Under Channel Manager/Add Favourites where the blue symbol is missing completely and the labels for the other colours are in gibberish.

(For further info - Under Config/System Info, the S/W version does say "1.0 SSC4 Apr 10 2008)

Do you think it has actually updated????????????????

I was having this problem as well, if you leave it a while after it has said "download failed" it will change to download successful (hopefully). And the update is completed
