Now it's my turn to ask for help!
I have the correct updated firmware for my eurovox model. Using a USB to Serial Adaptor and RS232 NULL Modem cable. Had problems finding port so changed it on computer management. Thought USB serial adapter cable software from manufacturer was problem so downloaded and installed latest version for it. I identified COM4 to use and have also tried 1,2 & 3. Software runs ok but cannot seem to upload cdf file or download new firmware to EV. Any help on this problem is much appreciated? (Re: Thread Name should say Firmware!!! )

Whats the craic there ww?
Loiked the accent Hate to tell you but the rs232 to USB adapter is real hit and miss - works for some but doesn't work for others. Seem to remember there are couple of threads in here somewhere where people got em to work. Didn't work for me m8 n I ended up buying a serial PCI card. Found the thread usb > rs232 problem Last edited by lucky13; 11-04-08 at 12:25 AM. Reason: found it |

Not same configuration as you - I've go a Blue Box and using a NULL modem cable, but this may help.
I couldn't get the COM port recognised unless power off on the box was turned off and turned on again while the cable was connected. Good luck. |

I have one working perfectly on my laptop running XP, but some people can't get them working for some reason.
You've done the obvious I see by changing the COM port assignment. You are using a null-modem lead and not just a gender changer?

Cheers lads been digging around on the forums for hours. Will have to do some more digging. Admittedly I bought the cables cheap off fleabay so probably rubbish. Tried power on off suggestion too but no luck. I asked for the null cable but it came in a clear plastic bag. an Irish seller too. He could have pulled a fast one!
I'll keep looking and will let you know if there is any success. Ain't I glad I know how to manually change keys. I can see the frustration of searching for something when its so much easier to ask.....
