Question Satellite Dish - Refurbishment ?

I have been given a 60cm dish (without LNB) that is in need of TLC before fixing to the house. It has never been used, just lay in friends shed.
I in intend to remove the superficial corrosion and repaint.
Can any paint be used
what colour is best
what surface finish matt or gloss
spray or brush
does paint thickness affect the performance of the dish.

Regards

You cannot use metalic paint, interferes with signal

Hi Doug
You can use any colour you fancy.

It is best not to use gloss paint though as it can reflect the sun and destroy the LNB, matt is best.

I have never renovated an old dish, but I have painted mine, and there was no effect on performance. I used matt car paint from a spray can.

It is reccommended that the coat of paint should be kept light, which is very easy with a spray can.

I always use that Plastic bumper paint. The dark grey is almost smack on the right colour Its also in a satin finish so that helps too

I brush painted mine with some black paint I had laying about. Never hurt signal, gloss is no good though.
