Default What Port??

Hi guys, looking to flash my Eurovox Max V later on today, I was wondering which port do you connect the null modem cable to?
I have right clicked My Computer and gone into properties and then device manager.
Under Ports it says :
Communications Port (COM1)
Communications Port (COM2)
ECP Printer Port (LPT1)

Have I got the required port on my computer, or will I have to buy one of those USB adapter thingy??
Sorry if it is a silly question , but usually everything I connect to my P.C is done via the USB port normally.
Thanks in advance guys.

Do you have a com port on your pc? It looks like a male equivelent of the socket you plug your moniter into. If you have one of these then you don't need to worry about a usb adapter. You don't need to worry about setting up the com port on your computer as it just automatically happens.

Well according to device manager Trog I do mate, I wouldn't know how to recognise one to be honest, so I will just have to trust device manager on this one I think!

I just read your post again, and checked the back of my P.C, I think I have 2 COM ports, as they look like the male equivalent of the socket you plug your monitor into.
So thanks for all your help matey!

I've never taken any notice of it, I usually just turn off the pc and the eurovox connect them with the cable and turn them back on. Click download on the firmware and it goes itself. It might be different on your machine but that is all I have ever done.

No problem, either should work.
