Updating Eurovox Max....

Hello all, i have had my Eurovox Max box for over a year now and like everyone else at the moment i am having to manually update the keys every day, i have never flashed/firmware it before and i am wondering what to do? I have just brought a null modem cable DB9F 9pin RS232, Is this the right cable to use to update my box? If so could someone please tell me the procedure to how i carry out updating my box? I have a Advent laptop, i presume that is sufficient to do the job? I am thanking someone in advance if they respond to this....Many Thanks

I think im gona have to by an adapter to my usb port, any ideas?? the cable i have got is 9 pins.

Yeh the cable is right but you need a serial port on your laptop or have access to a computer with a serial port or get a usb one but some people find these dont work either

Just looked on ebay and there are some adapters, about £3, its the only option ive got i suppose, what a pain in the ass all this is!!!! Cheers
